How to play word search puzzles online
A word search hides a list of words inside a grid of letters — horizontally, vertically, diagonally, and sometimes backwards. Tap the first letter of a word you spot, drag to its last letter, and release: if it matches a hidden word, it locks in with its own color and gets crossed off the list.
This word search game generates a brand-new grid every round, so no two puzzles are the same. Start with the Animals theme above, or jump to Food, Summer, Ocean, and Sports word lists. Handy trick from the Den: scan for uncommon letters first — a Q, X, or Z in the grid is usually the corner of a hidden word.
Frequently asked questions
How do you play a word search?
Every word in the list is hidden in the letter grid — running across, down, or diagonally, sometimes spelled backwards. Press on the first letter and drag to the last letter to select a word. Found words stay highlighted and get crossed off the list.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes — the grid is touch-friendly, so you can swipe across letters on any phone or tablet. It works in the browser with nothing to install.
Are the puzzles always the same?
No. Every puzzle is freshly generated, so the same theme gives you a new grid every time you hit "New puzzle" — effectively unlimited word searches.
How many words are hidden in each puzzle?
Between 12 and 14, depending on the theme. Words can overlap and share letters, so a single letter in the grid may belong to two different words — keep that in mind before ruling an area out.
